CBT is an evidence-based psychological approach which operates on the basic premise that thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behaviours are interconnected. An underlying assumption of CBT is that beliefs play an important role in how people are impacted and disturbed by events in their lives. CBT aims to change problematic emotions and behaviours by modifying cognitive processes including automatic thoughts and beliefs.

CBT It is a logical and practical approach to help people with their emotional problems. It aims to empower people and bring lasting relief.  Research shows considerable evidence that CBT provides effective relief across the lifespan for many anxiety, depressive and behavioural difficulties. Research also indicates that for some problems it is the treatment of choice.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is one of many evidence based therapies that may be used at Sharpe Psychology, to support clients, achieve their objectives. Eligible clients with a Mental Health Plan can receive Medicare rebates. Some Private Health Funds provide rebates. Referrals are not needed.
