An underlying assumption of CBT is that beliefs play an important role in how people are impacted and disturbed by events in their lives. CBT aims to change problematic emotions and behaviours by modifying cognitive processes including automatic thoughts and beliefs.

Research shows considerable evidence that CBT provides effective relief across the lifespan for many anxiety, depressive and behavioural difficulties. Research also indicates that for some problems it is the treatment of choice.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is one of many evidence based therapies that may be used at Sharpe Psychology, to support clients, achieve their objectives. Eligible clients with a Mental Health Plan can receive Medicare rebates. Some Private Health Funds provide rebates. Referrals are not needed.
